With A Girl Like You – The Troggs / 1966

With A Girl Like You는 트록스(The Troggs)가 1966년 발표한 곡으로 영국 2주간 1위, 미국 29위 등을 기록했다. 존 듀이건(John Duigan) 감독의 1991년 작인 <청춘 기숙사(Flirting)>에 사용되었다.

 

곡은 렉 프레슬리(Reg Presley)가 만들었고 래리 페이지(Larry Page)가 프로듀서를 맡았다. 렉은 <1000 UK #1 Hits>와의 인터뷰에서 “벽돌공일 때 이 곡을 만들었어요. Wild Thing하고 같은 날 녹음했죠. 비치 보이스(The Beach Boys)가 Barbara Ann에서 ”Ba-ba-ba-Barbara Ann“하는 부분이 너무 좋았어요. 그래서 이곡에도 한 번 넣어 보았는데 노래가 더 사랑스러워 진 것 같아요. 그런데 트럼펫을 사용한 부분이 노래로 부르는 부분보다 더 좋은 것 같아요”라고 말했다.
