Just Another Girl - The Killers / 2013

Just Another Girl은 US 록밴드 킬러스(The Killers)가 2013년 발표한 히트곡 모음집 <Direct Hits>에 수록한 곡으로 UK 83위, 아일랜드 85위, US 록 50위 등을 기록했다.  

 

브랜든 플라워스(Brandon Flowers)가 만들고 스튜어트 프라이스(Stuart Price)가 프로듀서를 맡았다. 브랜든은 NME와의 인터뷰에서 "스튜어트와는 요즘 친형제같아요. 매일 작업을 같이 하죠. 그의 음악적 작업과 취향에 감명을 받아요. 이 곡은 Shot At The Night과 다른 핏줄의 곡이예요. 훨씬 더 서사적이죠. 신시내티 공연 때 제가 드럼을 잘라 붙였더니 스튜어트가 나머지를 처리했습니다. 일반적인 일은 아니예요"라고 말했다.

 

뮤직비디오는 워렌 푸(Warren Fu)가 감독을 맡았다. L.A 실버 레이크의 스튜디오에서 촬영했고  US 배우 다이애나 애그론(Dianna Agron)이 출연해 브랜든 역할을 소화했다. 팀의 역사를 훑는 시나리오를 가지고 있다.   

 

가사는 헤어진 연인과의 이별을 아직 받아들이지 못한 상태의 모습을 전하고 있다. 헤어진 여친과는 인연이 아니라고 말하는 친구들의 위로가 짜증나는 지, 친구들에게 "다른 여자는 필요없다"고 선언한다. "Indian Dust"는 킬러스가 출범한 곳으로, 사막으로 둘러싸여 있는 라스베이거스를 가리킨다. "The sounds' off but TV's on"은 애국가가 울리고 방송이 다 끝났을 때, 시끄러운 소리가 들려서 소리는 무음으로 한 상황인 것 같다. 전 여친은 새 애인이 생겨 떠난 것 같고 제이슨은 전 여친의 남동생인 것 같다.
