Carry On – Chris De Burgh / 1979

Carry On은 크리스 디 버그(Chris De Burgh)가 1979년 발표한 4번째 스튜디오 앨범 <Crusader>에 수록한 첫 번째 곡으로 크리스가 만들었고 앤드류 파웰(Andrew Powell)이 프로듀서를 맡았다.

 

가사의 주제는 “Where are we going?”으로 대변할 수 있을 것 같다. 즉, 죽음 뒤에도 계속될 우리의 여정을 묻고 있다. 그리고 크리스가 인사이드 월드에서 “예수를 믿지만 기존의 조직화된 종교를 신뢰하지는 않는다”라고 말한 것처럼 기독교적인 내세관보다는 임사체험에서 흔히 볼 수 있는 사후관을 표출하고 있다.
