Body Rock은 마르첼로 엡스타인(Marcelo Epstein) 감독의 1984년 영화 <Body Rock>의 주제곡으로 US 싱어 송 라이터 마리아 비달(Maria Elena Vidal)이 불러 US 48위, 댄스 8위, UK 11위 등을 기록했다.
곡은 존 베티스(John Bettis)와 실베스터 르베이(Sylvester Levay)가 만들고 실베스터가 프로듀서를 맡았다. 당시 애드리안 라인(Adrian Lyne) 감독의 <플래시 댄스(Flash Dance)>, 조엘 실버그(Joel Silberg) 감독의 <Breakin'>과 같은 영화들이 히트하면서 춤 영화에 대한 시장성이 커지자 로렌조 라마스(Lorenzo Lamas) 등 남미계 배우들로 구성해 브레이킹 댄스를 소재로 해서 댄서들 중심의 캐릭터로 영화다.
음반이 나오자마자 우리나라 라디오에서 소개되기는 했는데 영화의 히트가능성이 없어서인지 국내에 수입이 되지는 않았다. 로렌조가 골든 라스베리 상 최악의 배우 후보에 오른 것으로 봐서 작품성도 그렇게 좋지는 않은 거 같다. 하지만 이 노래만은 개인적으로 너무 너무 좋아해서 아이들에게 이 노래 아냐고 묻고 다니며 긴 리믹스 버전을 찾아다녔던 기억이 있다.
