Rock N' Roll Is King - E.L.O. / 1983

Rock N' Roll Is King은 일렉트릭 라이트 오케스트라(Electric Light Orchestra)가 1983년 발표한 10번째 스튜디오 앨범 <Secret Messages>에 수록된 곡으로 아일랜드 4위, 캐나다 6위, 영국 13위, 미국 19위에 올랐다.

 

곡은 제프 린(Jeff Lynne)이 만들고 프로듀서를 맡았다. 오케스트라 지휘는 루이스 클락(Louis Clark)이 맡았고 바이올린 연주자 믹 카민스키(Mik Kaminski)가 참여했다.

 

당시 팀에서 신디사이저와 백업 보컬을 맡고 있던 데이브 모건(Dave Morgan)은 “앨범에서 보컬로 몇 곡에 참여 했는데요, 이 곡도 그 곡들 중의 한 곡이예요. 처음에는 좋은 평가를 받지 못했어요. 오스틴 롱브릿지에서 작업을 했는데요. 자동차 공장 소리들로 가득했죠. 망치로 쇠를 때리는 것 같았어요. 그런데 제프가 그 소리들을 다 없앴어요. 우리가 작업한 걸 다 지웠죠. 그래도 약간 경적 소리가 같은 게 남아 있긴 해요. 근데 그렇게 작업하고 나니 훨씬 더 좋아졌어요”라고 말했다.
