Baby, Come To Me – Patti Austin & James Ingram / 1981

Baby, Come to Me는 미국 재즈 가수 패티 오스틴(Patti Austin)이 1981년 발표한 <Every Home Should Have One>에 수록한 곡으로 미국 1위, 캐나다 3위, 영국 11위, 미국 1980년대 결산 81위 등을 기록했다. 미국에선 처음에 73위까지 올랐다가 100위권 밖으로 사라졌다. 그리고 몇 달이 지나 ABC 드라마 <종합병원(General Hospital)>에 주인공의 테마곡으로 사용 되고나서 다시 큰 인기를 얻었다. ABC로 곡의 문의가 많이 오자 WB는 곡을 재발매했다.

 

로드 템퍼튼(Rod Temperton)이 만들고 퀸시 존스(Quincy Jones)가 프로듀서를, 제임스 잉그램(James Ingram)이 보컬에 참여했다. 마이클 맥도날드(Michael McDonald)가 백그라운드 보컬을 맡았다. 이 곡의 히트에 연이어 이들은 1983년 노먼 주이슨(Norman Jewison) 감독의 <Best Friends> 주제가 How Do You Keep the Music Playing?를 불러 미국 45위에 올랐다.
