Killing Me DJ - Sweetbox Feat. Toby / 2004

Killing Me DJ는 스위트박스(Sweetbox)가 2004년 발표한 5번째 스튜디오 앨범 <After The Light>에 수록한 곡으로 국내에서 많은 사랑을 받았다. 국내에서의 남다른 인기를 감지한 스위트박스는 국내 버전의 앨범을 발표했다.

 

보컬을 맡은 제이드 빌라론(Jade Valerie Villan)과 프로듀서 로베르토 제오 로잔(Roberto Geo Rosan)이 만들었고 토비 브라이튼바흐(Toby Breitenbach)가 백업 보컬로 참여했다.

 

헤어짐의 슬픔으로 인해 더 슬픈 사랑 노래로 자신을 슬픔 감정에 푹 빠지게 해달라는 내용이다. 일종의 카타르시스 효과를 원하는 것 같다. 예전으로 다시 돌아갔으면 하지만 화자는 이별을 극복하는 데 시간이 걸릴 거라는 걸 알고 있어서 잘 견딜 것 같기도 하다. ‘six feet under’가 ‘죽어서 묻는다’라는 뜻을 가지고 있는데 여기서는 “ten feet”라고 말함으로써 자신의 감정을 더욱 강조하고 있다.
