Casablanca – Bertie Higgins / 1982

Casablanca는 미국 싱어 송 라이터 버티 히긴스(Bertie Higgins)가 1982년 발표한 <Just Another In Paradise>에 수록한 곡으로 일본 가수 히로미 고(郷 Go)가 일본에서 번안해 불러 크게 히트한 뒤 국내에서도 최헌이 번안해 불러 아주 많은 사랑을 받았다. 1995년엔 제시카 제이(Jessica Jay)가 댄스버전으로 리메이크해 유럽에서 인기를 끌었다. 1999년 MBC 라디오 <골든 디스크> ‘한국인이 좋아하는 팝송 200’ 중 65위로 선정되었다.

 

버티, 존 힐리(John Healy), 소니 림보(Sonny Limbo)가 만들었고 소니와 스캇 맥클레란(Scott MacLellan)이 프로듀서를 맡았다. 

가사는 마이클 커티즈(Michael Curtiz) 감독의 1942년 영화 <카사블랑카(Casablanca)>를 보면서 사랑을 나누던 추억과 이별에 관한 내용을 담고 있다.
