Mockin’ Bird Hill - Les Paul & Mary Ford / 1951

Mockin' Bird Hill은 레스 폴(Les Paul, (19150609 ~ 20090812)과 메리 포드(Mary Ford, 19240707 ~ 19770930)가 1951년 발표한 곡으로 US 10위, 연말결산 13위 등을 기록했다.

 

1950년 파인타퍼스(Pinetoppers)가 처음 발표했고 이듬해 패티 페이지(Patti Page)의 버전이 US 2위로 이 곡을 발표한 가수들 중 가장 높은 순위에 올랐다. 하지만 연말결산 14위로 장기적인 레이스에서는 레스의 버전이 근소하게 앞질렀다.

 

칼 줄라보(Carl “Calle” Jularbo) 작곡, 조지 본 호튼(George Vaughn Horton)이 작사 했다. 칼이 1915년 발표한 스웨덴 왈츠 Livet I Finnskogarna와 "스칸디나비아 왈츠 Norska Bondvals, Norwegian Farmer's Waltz 등을 바탕으로 만들었다.

 

자연과 함께 있는 자신이 있는 장소를 찬양하는 곡이다. 당시에는 상업적인 의도가 없었겠지만 펜션이나 민박집 광고에 사용하면 좋을 내용으로 보인다.
