Cause We've Ended As Lovers - Jeff Beck / 1975

Cause We've Ended As Lovers는 UK 기타리스트 제프 벡(Jeff Beck)이 1975년 발표한 2번째 솔로 앨범 <Blow By Blow>에 수록한 인스트루멘탈 곡으로 기타 월드 선정 '역대 최고의 기타 솔로 100곡'에 포함되었다.  

스티비 원더(Stevie Wonder)가 만든 곡으로 원래는 스티비의 당시 부인이었던 시리타 롸잇(Syreeta Wright)과 헤어지면서 이 곡을 주었고 시리타는 자신의 1974년 앨범 <Stevie Wonder Presents Syreeta Wright>에 처음으로 수록했다. 제프는 US 기타리스트 로이 부캐넌(Roy Buchanan)에게 헌정 했다. 비틀즈(The Beatles) 제5의 멤버 조지 마틴(George Martin)이 프로듀서를 맡았다. 

제프는 스티비의 1972년 앨범 <Talking Book>에서 기타를 쳐주고 Superstition을 받기로 했다. 하지만 녹음을 끝내놓고 기다리고 있을 때 스티비의 버전이 먼저 나와 큰 인기를 얻었다. 당시 스티비의 앨범을 제작했던 모타운의 베리 고디(Berry Gordy) 사장이 Superstition의 히트 가능성을 본능적으로 탐지하고 제프의 버전보다 먼저 시장에 내놓은 것이다. 스티비는 이에 대한 미안한 마음으로 제프의 <Blow By Blow> 앨범에 이 곡과  Thelonius 두 곡을 주었고 Theonius에서는 전자키보드 클라비넷을 쳐 주었다. 이에 대해 제프는 감사의 표시로 라이너 노트에 “고마워, 스티비”라고 적었다. 이 곡으로 인해 제프는 시리타의 버전보다는 물론이고 스티비 최대의 히트곡 중 하나인 Superstition에 버금가는 인기를 얻었다.
