Say Man – Bo Diddley / 1959

Say Man은 보 디들리(Bo Diddley)가 1959년 발표한 곡으로 미국 20위, R&B 3위 등을 기록했다. 최초의 랩 음반 중 하나로 평가받는다.

 

보가 만들었고 보와 마라카스 연주자인 제롬 그린(Jerome Green)과 흑인들의 농담을 사용해 서로 모욕적인 말을 주고받는다. 2005년 언컷과의 인터뷰에서 “최초의 랩 음반이라는 것과 그런 경향이 없지는 않지만 당시에는 랩이라고 부르지 않고 시그니파잉이라고 불렀어요”라고 말했다.
