Heartbeat – Annie / 2004

Heartbeat(혹은 My Heart Beat)은 노르웨이 뮤지션 애니(Annie)가 2004년 발표한 데뷔 앨범 <Anniemal>에 수록한 곡으로 노르웨이 18위, 영국 50위를 기록했다. 피치포크 2004년 최고의 노래 1위, 2000년대 최고의 노래 17위로 선정되었다.

 

곡은 애니와 스바인 버지(Svein Berge)와 톱전 브런드란드(Torbjørn Brundtland)로 구성된 프로듀서 팀 로익삽(Röyksopp)이 만들었고 로익삽이 프로듀서를 맡았다.

 

가사는 금요일 밤마다 친구들하고 클럽엘 가는데 어느 날 처음 보는 상대와 춤을 추면서 (아마도 사랑에 빠지고) 심장박동이 평소와 다르게 뛴다는 걸 느낀다는 내용이다. 화자는 모르는 상대와 춤을 추던 그때가 인생 최고의 순간이라고 고백한다. 서로의 사랑을 확인하고 고백을 하고 밤새 전화하는 시간보다 더 행복한 시간은 어쩌면 처음의 그 설렘이 생기는 시간이 아닌가 싶다.
