Evacuate The Dancefloor - Cascada Feat. Carlprit / 2009

Evacuate The Dancefloor는 캐스케이다(Cascada)가 2009년 발표한 3번째 앨범의 타이틀곡으로 UK 1위, 아일랜드 2위, 캐나다 4위, 저먼 5위, US 25위 등을 기록했다.

 

보컬을 맡은 나탈리 홀러(Natalie Horler)를 제외한 마뉴엘 로이터(Manuel Reuter)와 얀 파이퍼(Yann Peifer)가 작곡가 알란 에슈이즈스(Allan Eshuijs)와 만들고 마뉴엘과 얀이 프로듀서를 맡았다. 게스트로 짐바브웨 출신의 저먼 래퍼 칼프릿(Carlprit)이 참여했다. 나탈리는 “우리는 분명 우리만의 사운드를 개발했어요. 몇 년간 수업을 쌓고 실행에 옮긴 거죠. 이 곡은 재밌고 새로워요. 전 R&B를 좋아하고 목소리도 소울풀 하지만 기회가 없었는데요, 이 곡은 저에게 더 큰 도전인 것 같아요. 빨리 클럽에 가져가고 싶어요. 모든 사람들 입이 떡 벌어질 거예요”라고 말했다.

 

뮤직비디오는 L.A에서 촬영했다. 2010년 MTV 댄스 부문 후보에 올랐으나 레이디 가가(Lady Gaga)의 Bad Romance가 받았다. 레이디가가의 음악들과 비슷하다는 말에 나탈리는 “베꼈다는 말은 좋아하지 않아요. 부정적인 의미로 사용한 거니까요. 우린 이 곡을 2007년에 녹음했고 그 때는 레이디가가가 나오기 전이었어요. 그래서 누군가는 우리가 그녀에게 영향을 줬다고 말해요. 뭐 진실은 모르죠. 그랬다면 굉장한 일인 거 같아요”라고 말했다.

 

가사에 대해 나탈리는 디지털스파이와의 인터뷰에서 “중의적인 의미가 있어요. 'evacuating’이란 말은 종종 병에 걸렸다는 걸 의미하기도 하는데요. 우린 이걸 긍정적인 방식으로 받아들였어요. 사운드에 전염되고 비트가 너무 좋아서 사람들에게 강렬한 인상을 준다는 의미예요”라고 말했고 알란은 히트쿼츠와의 인터뷰에서 “좀 다른 말을 찾다가 ‘evacuate’이란 말을 고르게 되었어요. 후렴을 만들 때 ‘~ ~ dancefloor’까지만 정해져 있었고 우린 앞부분을 채워 넣어야 했는데요. 뻔하고 흔한 거 말고 이상한 조합으로 된 문장이면 좋겠다고 생각했어요. 그로 인한 이야기는 그 다음에 만들어도 되니까요”라고 말했다. 무대병에 걸렸다는 의미도 되겠지만 "모두 비켜, 내가 출거야"와 같은 스웩도 되지 않을까 싶다.
