Where Is The Love은 US 뮤지션 로버타 플랙(Roberta Flack, 19370210 ~ 20250224)와 도니 해서웨이(Donny Hathaway, 19451001 ~ 19790113)가 1972년 발표한 셀프타이틀 앨범에 수록한 곡으로 US 5위, R&B 1위, 연말결산 58위, UK 29위, 캐나다 35위 등을 기록했다. 그래미 보컬 퍼포먼스 부문을 수상했다. 

 

퍼커션 주자 랄프 맥도날드(Ralph MacDonald, 19440315 ~ 20111218)와 베이스 주자 윌리엄 설터(William Salter)가 만들고 조엘 돈(Joel Dorn)과 아리프 마딘(Arif Mardin)이 프로듀서를 맡았다. 작곡가들은 핍스 디멘션(Fifth Dimension)이나 발레리 심슨(Valerie Simpson) 등과 접촉했으나 가장 적극적이었던 로버타에게 갔다. 랄프는 듀엣을 제의했고 로버타는 도니를 택했다.  

 

가사는 사귀던 연인과 헤어질 거라고 말하고 화자에게 사랑한다고 고백했지만 계속 어느 쪽과도 헤어지지 않고 질질 끄는 관계에 대한 이야기인 것 같다.
