Live Your Life - T.I Feat. Rihanna / 2008

Live Your Life는 티아이(T.I., Tip, Clifford Joseph Harris Jr.)가 2008년 발표한 6번째 스튜디오 앨범 <Paper Trail>에 수록한 곡으로 US 1위, 연말결산 37위, 18위, 2000년대 결산 37위, 역대결산 202위(2018년 기준), UK 2위, 아일랜드 3위, 캐나다 4위 등을 기록했다. VH1 선정 '2000년대 최고의 노래' 76위에 올랐다.    

 

티아이와 댄 발런(Dan Balan), 저스트 블레이즈(Just Blaze, Justin Smith), 마케바 레딕(Makeba Riddick)이 만들고 카네이 핀치(Canei Finch)가 프로듀서를 맡았다. 티아이의 제안으로 게스트 보컬 리한나(Rihanna)가 참여했고 몰도바의 그룹 오-존(O-Zone)의 Dragostea Din Tei를 샘플링 했다. 

 

뮤직비디오는 앤소니 맨들러(Anthony Mandler)가 감독을 맡았고  MTV VMA 남성 부문을 수상했다. 티아이가 음악을 하기 위해 조직에서 나오는 걸 스토리로 잡았다. 

 

가사는 다른 사람의 말을, 특히 헤이터들의 말을 듣지 말고 자신의 삶을 살라고 말하고 있다. 화자는 자신이 힙합씬에 쏟은 열정에 비해 돌아오는 게 비난이 많아 상심한 걸 표현한 것 같다. 이라크 파병 병사들에 대한 이야기가 나온 건 당시 US가 이라크를 강제 점령하던 시기여서 그것에 맞춰 가사에 넣은 것이다. "Windmill City"는 세계에서 2번째로 풍차가 많은 리한나의 고향 바베이도스를 가리킨다.
