Promise Me - Beverley Craven / 1990

 

Promise Me는 UK 싱어송라이터 비벌리 크레이븐(Beverley Craven, 19630728)이 1990년 발표한 셀프 타이틀 데뷔 앨범에 수록한 곡으로 UK 3위, 연말결산 29위 등을 기록했고 프랑스, 네덜란드 등 유럽 여러 나라에서 인기를 얻었다. 오르카(Orca)가 1993년 발표한 4AM에서 가사 일부를 가져다 사용했다. 

 

비벌리가 만들고 폴 샘웰-스미스(Paul Samwell-Smith)가 프로듀서를 맡았다. 

 

가사는 아마도 교육이나 출장 등의 정해진 기간 동안 떨어져 있어야 하는 연인에게 변하지 말고 자신을 기다려 달라고 말하는 내용인 것 같다. 걸프전 때 군인들 사이에서 인기가 많은 곡이었다고 한다.
