Here It Goes Again – Ok Go / 2006

Here It Goes Again은 미국 얼터너티브 밴드 오케이 고(OK Go)가 2006년 발표한 2번째 스튜디오 앨범 <Oh No>에 수록한 곡으로 영국 36위, 미국 38위 등을 기록했다.

 

다미안 쿨라쉬(Damian Kulash)가 만들고 토레 요한슨(Tore Johansson)이 프로듀서를 맡았다. 뮤직비디오는 다미안이 감독을 맡았고 러닝머신 안무는 다미안의 동생인 트리쉬 시(Trish Sie)가 지도했다. 촬영은 모두 21번을 시도해서 3번을 성공했다. 2006년 당시 5천만이라는 충격적이고 획기적인 조회수를 기록했고 (재업로드해서 기존 조회수가 지워지고 새로 정산되었다) 무수히 많은 패러디를 양산했다. 그래미 단편 비디오 부문을 수상했고 2011년 타임 선정 역사상 최고의 뮤직비디오 30편에 포함되었다.

 

다미안은 이 곡의 가사에 대해 여러 인터뷰에서 공연장에서 “원 나잇 스탠드 이후에 사랑에 빠진 이야기”라고 말했다. 원 나잇 이후에 다신 안 만날 사람일거라고 생각을 하고 마음의 평정을 되찾을 즈음에 다시 만나고 그러다 또 헤어져 다시 정리될 즈음에 다시 만나는, 그런 관계를 말하는 내용인 것 같다. 다미안은 “제 경험담이에요. 창에서 떨어지면 어떨까를 생각하는 것과 비슷한 것 같아요. 재밌잖아요! 전 그러다 결혼했어요”라고 말했다. 어린 아이들에게 인기있다는 말을 듣고 “아이들이 원 나잇을 알까요?”라고 말했다.

 

가사에 나오는 “Surfer Rosa”는 픽시즈(Pixies)의 1988년 데뷔 앨범을 가리킨다. 뒷면의 사진을 넣은 티셔츠가 아닐까 싶다.
