There She Goes, My Beautiful World는 닉 케이브 앤 더 배드 시즈(Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds)가 2004년 발표한 13번째 스튜디오 앨범 <Abattoir Blues / The Lyre Of Orpheus>에 수록한 곡으로 영국 45위를 기록했고 피치포크 선정 ‘2000년대 최고의 노래’ 413위에 올랐다.

 

닉이 만들고 닉 러네이(Nick Launay)가 프로듀서를 맡았다.

 

가사는 창작자의 게으름 혹은 귀차니즘에 대한 이야기가 아닌가 싶다. 자연이 널려 있고 그녀가 준 영감들이 떠다니는데, 유명한 예술가, 작가, 철학가들은 자신의 나이 때에 이미 다 한 가닥씩 했는데, 화자 자신은 그걸 알면서도 침대에서 일어날 줄을 모른다. 마치 시험이 코앞에 있는데도 시험기간 전과 똑같이 여전히 컴퓨터를 먼저 켜고 게임을 살피는 아이처럼. 화자는 지금 뒹굴고 있는 게 가장 중요해 보인다. 그 다음날로, 그 다음날로, 작업을 미루면서. 그리고 머릿속으로 세상을 지배하고 싶다고, 움직이고 싶다고 생각한다. 여기서 말하는 "she"는 화자가 그냥 떠나보내는 영감이나 창조적인 소재가 아닐까 싶다.
