Don't Stop The Feeling - Roy Ayers / 1979

 

Don't Stop The Feeling은 US 비브라폰 연주자 로이 에이어스(Roy Edward Ayers Jr. 19400910 ~ 20250304)가 1979년 발표한 9번째 스튜디오 앨범 <No Stranger To Love>에 수록한 곡으로 UK 56위, US R&B 32위, 댄스 35위 등을 기록했다. 

 

로이와 채노 오패럴(Chano O'Ferral), 웨스 램세우어(Wes Ramseur)가 만들고 로이와 윌리엄 알렌(Williams Allen)이 프로듀서를 맡았다. 작곡가들 모두가 보컬에 참여해 박수를 쳤고 몬디 올리버(Mondeé Oliver)가 스캣을 불렀다. 로이는 이 외에도 클라비넷, 오보에, 키보드 등을 연주하고 편곡을 했다. 당시 뜨거웠던 디스코 열풍에 합류한 곡들 중 한 곡으로  시크(The Chic)의 Le Freak과 비슷한 느낌이 난다. 

 

가사는 필 받은 감정을 잊지 말고 춤을 추라는 내용인 것 같다. 하지만 해석에 따라 다양한 상황에 대입할 수 있을 것 같다.
