Love Me Not - Ravyn Lenae ft Rex Orange County / 2024

 

Love Me Not은 US R&B 뮤지션 라빈 르네(Ravyn Lenae Washington, 19990122)가 2024년 발표한 2번째 스튜디오 앨범 <Bird's Eye>에 수록한 곡으로 UK 싱어송라이터 렉스 오렌지 카운티(Rex Orange County, Alexander James O'Connor, 19980504)와 리믹스 버전을 발표한 뒤 아일랜드 12위, UK 19위, 캐나다 70위, US 107위 등을 기록하고 있다.

 

라빈과 앤더슨 팩(Anderson Paak)이 작사하고, 라빈과 앤더슨 외에 10명이 작곡 크레딧을 받았다. 스펜서 스튜어트(Spencer Stewart), 다히(Dahi) 등 프로듀서도 5명이 참여했다. 라빈은 스니프스와의 인터뷰에서 "제작하면서 다른 목소리도 들어보고 싶었어요. 일종의 서로 묻고 대답하는 스타일을 좋아했기 때문에 렉스에게 구절을 부탁했습니다. 그가 구절을 보냈을 때 당시 그 부분의 작곡은 없었어요. 렉스는 자신의 구절이 노래에 맞지 않을까 너무 두려워했고 노래를 망칠까봐 걱정했지만 저에게는 완벽했습니다"라고 말했다.

 

가사는 아마도 화자의 경우는 섹스를 한 후에 상대에 대한 그리움이 강해져 사귀고 싶은 마음이 든 상태를 표현한 것 같다. 렉스의 부분으로 봐서는 남자의 경우 섹스 파트너 외에는 화자를 사귀고 싶어하지는 않는 것 같다.
