Put The Blame On Me는 캐나다 출신의 US 가수 아니타 엘리스(Anita Kert Ellis, 19200412 ~ 20151028)가 부른 곡으로 US 배우 리타 헤이워드(Rita Hayworth, Margarita Carmen Cansino 19181017 ~ 19870514)가 찰스 바이더(Charles Vidor) 감독의 영화 <길다(Gilda)>에서 더빙 했다. 2004년 AFI 선정 '최고의 영화 음악 100곡' 중 84위에 올랐다. 

 

앨런 로버츠(Allan Roberts, 19050312 ~  19660114)와 도리스 피셔(Doris Fisher, 19150502 ~20030115)가 만들었다. 

 

가사는 1906년의 샌프란시스코 대지진, UK 출신의 캐나다 작가 로버트 서비스(Robert W. Service)가 언급한 캐나다 유콘지역의 금광에서 있었던 총격 사건 등이 발생한 이유가 메임(Mame)에게 있으니, 메임에게 책임을 물으라며 비꼬는 내용이다. 과거에 좋지 않은 일이 발생하면 논리적 이유없이 여자를 악마화해서 희생양으로 삼았던 것을 조롱한 것으로 보인다. 관동대지진때 일본인들이 조선인들에게 그 탓을 돌린 것과도 비슷할 것 같다.
