Haven't Got Time For The Pain - 칼리 사이먼 Carly Simon / 1974

 

Haven't Got Time For The Pain은 US 싱어송라이터 칼리 사이먼(Carly Simon 119640625)이 1974년 발표한 4번째 스튜디오 앨범 <Hotcakes>에 수록한 곡으로 캐나다 5위, US 14위, AC 2위 등을 기록했다. 

 

칼리와 제이콥 브랙맨(Jacob Brackman)이 만들고 리처드 페리(Richard Perry)가 프로듀서를 맡았다. 드럼, 현악 편곡, 어쿠스틱 기타 연주는 당시 남편인 제임스 테일러(James Taylor)가 맡았고 마지막 부분의 스트링과 퍼커션의 아웃트로는 첼리스트 폴 벅마스터(Paul Buckmaster)와 드러머 랄프 맥도날드(Ralph MacDonald)가 만든 것이다. 이 곡을 녹음할 당시 칼리 첫 아이를 임신하고 있어서 고음을 낼 수 없었다. 그래서 앨범의 고음 부분은 BG 가수 타샤 토마스(Tasha Thomas)가 불렀고 아이를 낳고 난 후에  싱글은 칼리가 불러 다시 녹음한 것을 출시했다. 

 

가사는 고통스럽고 힘든 나날을 보내다 화잔의 내면을 사랑으로 채울 수 있는 사람을 만나 행복하다는 내용인 것 같다.
