School Day - Chuck Berry / 1957

School Day (Ring! Ring! Goes the Bell)는 척 베리(Chuck Berry, 19261018 ~ 20170318)가 1957년 발표한 스튜디오 앨범 <After School Session>에 수록한 곡으로 US 5위, R&B 1위, UK 24위 등을 기록했다.

 

척이 만들고 레너드 체스(Leonard Chess)와 필 체스(Phil Chess)가 프로듀서를 맡았다. 1964년 곡인 No Particular Place To Go에 사용한 편곡을 다시 사용했다. 1971년 연작으로 Lonely School Day를 발표했다.

 

가사는 고등학교 시절에 학교 가서 공부도 하면서 끝나고 술집에 가서 음악 듣고 춤출 생각만 했던 시절을 그리고 있다.
