I Don't Think That I Like Her - Charlie Puth / 2022

I Don't Think That I Like Her는 US 뮤지션 찰리 푸스(Charlie Puth)가 2022년 발표한 3번째 스튜디오 앨범 <Charlie>에 수록한 곡으로 멜론 주간 8위에 오를 정도로 국내에서 큰 사랑을 받았다. 

 

찰리가 제이콥 캐쉬어(Jacob Kasher), 블레이크 슬레잇킨(Blake Slatkin), 제이크 토레이(Jake Torrey) 등이 함께 만들고 찰리가 프로듀서를, 블링크-182(Blink-182)의 트레비스 바커(Travis Barker)가 드럼 연주를 맡았다. 틱톡을 통해 살짝 선보였고 가제는 "Her"였다. 찰리는 애플뮤직과의 인터뷰에서 "트레비스는 신디 드럼들 속에서 정말 중요한 레이어를 더해주었어요. 제가 혼자서는 할 수 없는 걸 주었죠. 가수가 노래할 때 청자들은 다르게 생각하도록 유도하는 걸 좋아해요. 존 웨이트(John Waite)가 Missing You에서 반어법처럼 'I ain’t missing you at all since you’ve been gone'라고 노래하는 것처럼요. 그렇게 말하지 않음으로써 그렇게 말하고 싶었어요"라고 말했다. 

 

가사는 자신에게 상처만 주는 주기 때문에 여자를 더 이상 좋아하지 않는다고, 정확하게는 그러고 싶다고 말하는 것 같다. 그럼에도 예외 조항을 만들어 계속 사랑을 이어나가고 또 상처 받고 하지만. 제목의 "her"보다는 "girls"가 어울리지 않을까 싶은 생각이 든다.
