Where I Like To Stand - Vashti Bunyan / 1970

Where I Like To Stand는 UK 포크 뮤지션 바쉬티 번연(Jennifer Vashti Bunyan)이 1970년 발표한 데뷔 스튜디오 앨범 <Just Another Diamond Day>에 수록한 곡이다.

 

바쉬티와 존 제임스(John James)가 만들고 조 보이드(Joe Boyd)가 프로듀서를 맡았다.

 

가사는 어촌에서 개소리를 듣고 양이 풀을 뜯는 걸 보며 배를 세고 갈매기를 세며 하루를 보내는 소박한 삶을 그리고 있다.

개가 짖고, 양이 풀을 뜯어

I'm counting the boats in the bay

난 만에 있는 배를 세고 있지

As they float they seem to say:

배들은 떠다니면서 이렇게 말하는 것 같아:

The men in the boats, they wave to their wives and say:
