Like You'll Never See Me Again - Alicia Keys / 2007

 

Like You'll Never See Me Again은 US 뮤지션 앨리샤 키스(Alicia Keys)가 2007년 발표한 3번째 스튜디오 앨범 <As I Am>에 수록한 곡으로 US 12위, R&B 1위, 연말결산 47위, 캐나다 46위, 아일랜드 48위, UK 53위 등을 기록했다. US R&B 차트에서 No One(10주 1위)과 이 곡이 연속으로 17주간 1위를 차지하며 이전 15주 기록을 갈아치웠다. US 팝밴드 베를린(Berlin)의 Take My Breath Away와 비슷한 느낌이 난다.  

 

앨리샤과와 케리 브라더즈 주니어(Kerry Brothers Jr.)가 함께 만들고 함께 프로듀서도 맡았다. 뮤직비디오는 다이앤 마르텔(Diane Martel)이 감독을 맡았고 앨리샤와 조 카나한(Joe Carnahan) 감독의 2006년 영화 <스모킹 에이스(Smokin' Aces)>에 함께 출연했던, US R&B 뮤지션 커먼(Common)이 카메오로 출연했다. 앨리샤는 MTV와의 인터뷰에서 "가슴이 미어지는 감동을 주는 작품이예요. 그걸 느끼지 못한다면 죽은 거나 다름 없어요"라고 말했다. 

 

가사는 사랑하는 사람과 매순간을 느끼고 싶은 마음을 표현한 것일 수도 있고 이별이 두려워 한없이 집착하는 내용인 것 같기도 하다. 앨리샤는 MTV와의 인터뷰에서 "매순간 마지막인 것처럼 살자는 내용이예요. 사랑한다고 말할 수 있는 마지막순간이라면, 잊지 말자고요"라고 말했고 빌보드와의 인터뷰에서는 "현재를 사는 것, 우리가 사랑하는 사람들과 함께하는 순간들을 소중히 여기는 것에 관한 노래예요. 매 순간을 마치 마지막인 것처럼 사는 것과 사랑하는 사람들과 보내는 시간을 정말 소중히 여기는 것에 관한 거죠. 앞으로 무슨 일이 일어날지 모르기 때문이예요. 남편과 이야기하던 중 우리가 함께 하는 시간을 최대한 활용하는 것이 중요하다는 것을 논하던 것에서 영감을 얻었습니다"라고 말했다.
