The Wedding Cake은 코니 프란시스(Connie Francis)가 1968년 발표한 동명의 앨범 타이틀곡으로 미국 싱글 91위, AC 19에 올랐다. 국내에서 트윈폴리오가 웨딩케잌이란 제목으로 번안해 불러 폭발적인 인기를 누렸다.

 

곡은 마가렛 루이스(Margaret Lewis)와 미라 스미스(Mira Smith)가 만들었고 쉘비 싱글턴 주니어(Shelby S Singleton Jr.)가 프로듀서를 맡았다. "icing"은 케이크 위에 장식하는 걸 말한다. 

 

가사는 트윈폴리오 버전이 주는 “이 밤이 지나면 나는 가네, 원치 않는 사람에게로”의 정략결혼이 주는 느낌과 완전히 다르게 오랜 세월을 조망할 수 있는 시야를 가진 넓은 마음의 여성이 의무감으로 가득 찬 남편에게 보내는 위로와 격려의 편지 같은 느낌을 준다.
